How does food digest

                                                      How does food digest

Have you ever wondered how the food digests in your stomach? I will provide you with an explanation as to how food digests in our stomachs.

The food that you eat is masticated with your teeth and saliva.  The food is then moved to the back of your mouth and to the trapdoor or oesophagus. This is done by your tongue

The masticated food is moved into your stomach and it is broken down by digestive juices. The broken down food moves to your small intestine where the goodness is soaked in.

The balance of the food is  moved into the large intestine and has the water taken out. The goodness that is left behind and is carried through by blood to all part of your body. It is used for growth, repair and energy.

The waste food is excreted and goes out through the anus.
