Camp

                                                               Camp

Last year in term two most of the fours and fives went to camp. The rest of them went on day trips. I was quite nervous because it was my first time going on a camp. My brother and sister had gone on a few camps, and whenever they did I would always feel left out.

At nine o'clock we left. The teachers said it would take about an hour to get there. I was glad I had brought two books. Most of the time we sang songs and talked. Near the end a teacher fell asleep and started to snore. Everyone started to laugh, which woke up the teacher. Because I had talked so much by the time we got there I had only read one chapter.

When we got there, the teachers and parent helpers unloaded everything. By the time we all had our suitcases it was ten-thirty. The teachers told us to settle into our cabins and change out of our uniform. All of my friend and I were in cabin one. I was glad because it was the closest to the hall.

Next was lunch and then it was our first activity. My group had the nature walk. Everything was so beautiful. The teacher had cards of trees and insects and we had to try and find them. It was so much fun.

Next our group had kitchen duty. We had to peel like a hundred potatoes and make jelly. The boys only did five and then they started to moan. So the parent helper told them to make jelly instead while the girls did all the peeling. When the girls finished the boys came in and said “we make jelly” like it was really hard to make and they had done so much. When everything was done the parent helper let us make pancakes. Everyone had a turn.

For dinner there was cottage pie, mashed potatoes and vegetables. But I couldn’t eat the cottage pie so I got a sausage instead. I was really mad because I had peeled those potatoes for nothing.

After dinner we got into our pyjamas and went back to have milo. We also had to write about forty-five minutes of the day which was really hard because on activity was for an hour.

That night no one could go to sleep. We stayed up until eleven telling kind of scary stories. I couldn’t wait until tomorrow.
